Why Do Chef’s Hats Have 100 Folds?
Workshop Next Year? / The significance of the omelet.
Hello Dancers,
Hope you’re resting and digesting well.
I read that, “To eat is human, to digest is divine.”
Interesting question… Why do Chef’s Hats have 100 folds?
I found out the answer when I did a weeklong boot camp at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America.)
It is because chef’s should be able to create 100 different dishes with eggs.
I love eggs by the way.
The Cross Body Lead, a Dile que no, Pass By, whatever you call it, (you say potayto, I say potahto), I view it like the Egg.
So, by using the “Chef’s Hat” analogy, you should be able to do The Cross Body Lead 100 ways. l
That’s why I am doing a workshop focusing only on The Staple Move. A deep dive. An inch wide, but a mile deep examination.
I view the Cross Body Lead like the egg. I should be able to do over 100 variations with it.
I will be teaching a chefs hat view workshop with the CBL. I have it semi planed in my head. Info to come when I actually decide to and schedule it jajaja.
I’m a little nervous about doing it, which means I should do it.
Quality Matters too.
Now you may be able to do 100 things with eggs, but everyone knows that if an old-time Master Chef wants to see the skill/level of another Chef, they will ask them to make an omelette.
So, it’s not just about doing 100 variations with eggs, there must be a sophistication about each preparation. The quality of your leading/following, your feeling, your 3rd Kind of Time.
Hope to schedule this next year.
Cheers,
Happy Dancing,
Garry

Sounds like fun!
